Aircraft Carrying US Defense Secretary Required to Land in UK Due to Crack in Windshield
A jet transporting the US defense secretary was required to make an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday following a fracture was discovered in the jet's front window, according to an official announcement which confirmed that all passengers were secure.
"The jet touched down in accordance with standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, including Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," a press officer commented in a public statement.
Hegseth was returning from a brief trip to the Belgian capital at the time.
This occurrence isn't the initial instance that a United States armed forces jet carrying a senior official has encountered equipment failures.
In a previous incident this year, a US Air Force plane transporting the US Secretary of State to Munich was forced to return to Washington DC after suffering a technical issue.
